Spider Scissors

For my James and the Giant Peach brief I am starting to look into the characters and creating a sense of place before I start my drawings. I'm getting a Tim Burton feel for the brief, but combining that with my innocent style.
I came across 'Spider scissors' by Christopher Locke. These spiders were made from scissors and army knives confiscated by the TSA at airport security checkpoints.

Although i cant stand spiders, these i enjoy. They capture the eerie presence and familiar poses of a spider.
